Apple has recently abandoned its attempt to trademark the “Pod” trademark. Even though this was a battle that lasted for seven years, Apple decided to abandon its attempts on 13 April 2011. It is yet not known why Apple attempted to trademark the “Pod” mark over and over again, and then give up .It seems that the first filling was made on 29 July 2004. In December last year, the company abandoned its attempt, only to try again one month later, in January 2011. Clients looking to determine potential prior-rights or assess the registrability of a trade mark can use eccora’s common law service.
